Since years I am learning music and I think no once can be perfect in music because it’s a dynamic field which get change with the passage of time , like times ago people were eager to listen classical music but now a days no one like to listen classical music , in fact it’s the age of Rock, POP , Jazz and blah blah . I already written about this on my PakBuzzer blog yet I though it would be better to mention it here as well .
As from the title of my post I am working to make music more interesting – now that’s the headache for me how to make it more interesting , one method is to mix it with classical music and give it a new shape but it’s the old method which most of musician use to get popular , I am not gonna use this one to take my popularity up – I want to do something genuine .
Another method which I got in mind is the mixing of Arabic music with English music and to generate new age drum beats which is 100% unique and genuine , I think this method will work for me , there are some musician in industry who are already using this method but the shape I got in mind is simply the best and I believe I’ll make it more good if I’ll work more on it . Just comment on if you got any idea !!
we got into the studio yesterday, three dancers, one musician and one visual artist. it was mad. in the greatest of ways. again, i found myself in a group of people trying to create, using a collective creative eye, and the creative eye being on the inside of the piece.
and yet, again, i found myself wondering about creating from the inside verses the outside. being a performer in the piece, verses being a choreographer on the outside. in school, they said, pointing with the finger, you have to step outside, you have to become the eye from the outside. there was not really an option. if the choreographer was in the piece, it was usually because a dancer had been injured or was sick. but to not even have an understudy that wasn’t the choreographer was a no-no.
this is something i’ve been thinking of for awhile, mostly when seeing dance where the artistic director also is involved in the piece as a performer. is it possible to be in a piece and still get a sense of what the piece is, what it “looks” like, what it is, from the outside? or is this even important? are we maybe past a time when we need that control? does it matter what it looks like? or is all that matters what we do, no matter what it looks like to others than those who are performing?
people i discuss this with talk about the inner voice, and feeling certain ways as the performer. not so much about how things come across, what impression it gives. many times we don’t have a choice, we have to create on our own bodies because of lack of funding and lack of time with other dancers in the studio. it’s hard to find ways to step outside, to get your dancers together in order for the choreographer to solely be the the creator, as opposed to the creator and the performer.
but then again, i don’t know where the difference is. is it a strength to allow yourself, if you can, to step out? is this a trust issue? do you trust your dancers to carry your piece without your own voice as a performer in the piece? or is it a strength to trust your language so much that you skip the observation from the outside?
Natural Music is one which is close to the tunes of natural things , I normally listen new tracks and try to explore new and nice tracks because I get bore when I listen same music again and again – I like different language songs as well , though I don’t understand the wording yet I get myself amuse with the pace of sound track .
khmer music is one of them which makes me happy & force me to play that song at full base lol - the only reason behind my this liking is the pure notes behind tracks & believe me you will also like khmer music once you will listen it with full base lol .
I call this kind of music a Natural music which make your soul live and invite you to listen that track again and again , khmer music is one of them , Let’s have a try !
Music is something which is generated from the core of heart , for this you have to bring yourself in full emotion and apart from this you must have command on your tool , that tool could be Guitar , violin or could be anything the basic concept is the same and that is to generate good notes you must sync your soul with the pace of music .
I have seen lots of people playing with musical tools but they just play because they have no damn charm in this music , only they can enjoy that music and no one else , it’s same like a body with no soul in it .
When I was small my ambition was to Learn and Master Guitar but couldn’t find enough resource at that time but now when I have lots of resources I don’t have time which really pissed my life . Whatsoever , I got one friend who is good in playing guitar and sometime on weekends when I am free I just to to his home and we both enjoy real taste of Music .
